| Communication components for robotics One possible application for a robot is transmitting and receiving data in a wireless way. The data is transferred in a digital method through suitable components for a limited distance which can be extended with an antenna. The receiver and the transmitter should be matching meaning working with the same frequencies. The simplest method of transmitting and receiving is called ASK: Amplitude shift keying which in the context of digital communications is a modulation process, which imparts to a sinusoid two or more discrete amplitude levels. These are related to the number of levels adopted by the digital message. ASK can be considered a digital version of analog amplitude modulation. In its simplest form, a burst of radio frequency is transmitted only when a binary 1 appears and is stopped when a 0 appears.
