Analog to digital converter

The purpose of an analog to digital converter is turn a given voltage into a binary input which a
micro-controller or a cpu are able to read. The main problem is resolution.  The higher the number
of bits on the digital side the better the resolution is.

Digital to analog converter

The purpose of a digital to analog converter is turn a binary output from a micro-controller or a cpu
to an analog voltage. The main problem is resolution. The higher the number of bits on the digital
side the better the accuracy  on the analog side.
